WELCOME TO GRANBERGA GÅRD

We are a family owned farm on the island of Edö including a farm store, accommodation and small scale production of local products

About Us

This is Granberga Gård

Granberga Farm is a family owned farm on Edö just east of Ljusterö.
We are starting up a visitor farm with small scale production of eggs, vegetables, fruits and berries and honey and other bee products. Currently there are pigs, sheep, chickens, turkeys, quails, rabbits and bees in the yard. In the future, the animal crew will be expanded with cows, goats and ducks. We will have several Swedish old country races in genbank for conservation breeding, but also other races for shape and color in both appearance and production.

Family with a vision

Our goal with the farm is to work on the basis of the ethical elements of permaculture with care of the earth, caring for man and fair distribution. The core of our business should be a sustainable and social commitment, where we donate, among other things, to selected charities.

Our vision is to together create something extraordinary by giving our visitors and customers the little extra that makes them want to come back and also recommend us to others.

Farm Shop

Visit our local farm store

At our family run farm store you will find a selection of our sustainably produced items such as eggs, vegetables, fruits and berries, honey and other bee products. On top of that, we offer homemade delicacies such as jams and chutneys and some handmade or upcycled furniture and decoration.
Our philosophy is to produce small, local and sustainable. With this environmentally friendly approach, we want to preserve our pristine nature for generations to come and convince more people to buy locally. Since we know what we feed, plant all our crops ourselves, harvest and process everything by hand and ensure that our animals lead happy lives, we are able to ensure products of the highest quality. Come and meet us at our farm shop or order a selection of products online!

Opening times: Mon-Sun 10-18

Our Animals

Meet our lovely farm animals

At the farm, we currently have two native Swedish Linderöd pigs addicted to belly rubs, a flock of sheep, several different chicken breeds which shows in the unique colouring of our eggs, a turkey named "Mr. Alien", a bunch of stubborn quails, two rabbits and several beehives in the yard.  In the future, the animal crew will be expanded with cows, goats and ducks.

We believe in a fair and species-appropriate environment for our animals which is why we keep our chickens on pasture where they can find worms and plants to eat on top of what we feed to them (you will definitely see a difference in the colour of the yolk), our pigs have extensive grounds to root in and our bees produce an especially tasty honey due to the wildflowers, fruit trees and herbs they can find on the island. Simultaneously, the animals help us to naturally fertilise and clear our grounds - our fields profit from the chicken manure which naturally turns them a lush green colour and helps the ground recover from past crops, our pigs turn overgrown areas into future pasture by rooting around and our bees pollinate our gardens and fields.
